Nunzio Miano, Barbara Kitallides, Paul Blak bring together their passion and talent for striking, powerful pieces in this special event: Nocturne.

Join us on opening night, Thursday 8th August 6pm, for a red carpet, champagne event.

Nunzio Miano:
Melbourne based artist, Nunzio Miano has spent the last 30 years expressing himself through painting, drawing and ceramic work. Miano began his tertiary development in Visual Arts at the University of Melbourne and then graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design from Monash University, Melbourne. Miano’s work ranges from figurative to abstract. Brightly coloured and expressive works contrast with dark and melancholy pieces exploring distortion and emotion. Despite only recently having begun exhibiting his work publicly, his last three exhibitions have been sell-out shows.

Nunzio Miano, Bound By The Past , 2019. Acrylic on canvas, 80cm(h) x 65cm(w), $2200.

Barbara Kitallides: Kitallides began her artistic journey studying design and visual communication at Monash University and now is a full time artist whose artwork uses bold colour and expressive paint strokes in an exploration of life and place in the modern world. Her works enquire into our inner conscience and how it interacts with our surroundings; there is a constant push pull effect of anarchy and control. The end aim is to find balance within the chaos of these two spaces and discover what results. Kitallides works quickly, voicing her emotions on canvas, then taking time to let the art speak back. Over a period of weeks, even months, Kitallides works on the canvas until she is satisfied the dialogue is complete.

Barbara Kitallides, Night Moves Series , 2018. Acrylic, flashé, enamel, varnish on canvas, 101cm(h) x 202cm(w), $8000.

Paul Blak: Australian Artist Paul Blak has always been eager to draw and paint since an early age. Being raised in the desert of Western Victoria gave him an early insight into the desolate beauty of Australia’s raw, rural landscape. Paul is also an accomplished Art Director and Photographer working for decades in fashion, architecture and interiors in both Sydney and Melbourne. His abstract work is a multi-layered combination of colour, landscape, graphic elements, design and structure.
